Warranty Policy

Our comprehensive SPH warranty policy ensures coverage for damaged components and accessories supplied directly by us. We provide a service agreement for nearly every automotive part, though it’s important to note that labor costs are not included. If any part is found defective, our first approach is to replace it. In cases where replacement is not possible, we will issue a full refund of the charged amount. However, if a reorder is placed before the initial item is returned, advance payment will be required, and the refund will follow once the first part is received back.

When submitting return requests to SPH Yard, customers must provide a clear explanation of the reason for return. If a returned item does not meet the warranty guidelines outlined in this policy, Used Parts Yard reserves the right to charge a 25% restocking fee from the total paid amount. Additionally, Used Parts Yard will not be held responsible if the buyer refuses or fails to accept delivery at the shipping address provided at the time of purchase.

Before placing any order, please consult with a certified mechanic or body specialist to ensure the correct part is requested. Refunds and returns will not be processed if the order was placed incorrectly by the customer. Furthermore, all items must be returned within 30 days of delivery to qualify for warranty consideration.

The following special cases either void the warranty or fall outside of our standard 30-day return policy. Engines are sold as complete assemblies including manifolds, oil pans, timing covers, belts, fuel injection systems, or carburetors; however, our guarantee applies only to the long block and not to manifolds, seals, gaskets, hoses, or belts. If individual parts are purchased separately, they will carry their own warranty.

High-wear components such as water pumps, distributor caps, spark plugs, and wires may require replacement and are not covered under this policy. Electrical parts, including engine computers, body control modules, transmission modules, and transfer case modules, are guaranteed only for correct manufacturer part numbers. These items are not for testing purposes and are covered under replacement warranty only. We allow a single replacement request for non-functional modules. Some modules may require dealer reprogramming, and returns are not accepted unless verified by the dealer as defective. Any modification to an electrical part voids its warranty immediately.

Suspension parts such as struts are sold in working condition and are covered under warranty. However, ride quality of shocks or springs is excluded, though we guarantee functional springs and strut mounts. Control arms are warranted to be original and straight, but bushings and other non-metal components attached to them are not covered. Likewise, bushings and ball joints are excluded from the warranty coverage.

Transmissions

We guarantee that transmissions supplied by SPH will operate correctly, with gears and bearings functioning smoothly. It is essential to thoroughly clean all transmission components, including the oil pan, before assembly. For every automatic transmission, the oil and filter must be replaced, and all seals and gaskets should be changed before installation. The cooler and lines must be flushed and flow-tested, and the torque converter should be fully engaged in the front pump. For manual transmissions, a new clutch, pressure plate, and slave cylinder must be installed, and the flywheel should be resurfaced prior to installation. Fluids must be filled to proper levels to validate warranty coverage.

Please note that turbo seals are not guaranteed to remain intact; however, seals may be replaced during the warranty period if required. Warranty coverage on body parts applies only to the door shell itself and does not extend to accessories such as windows, regulators, handles, hinges, or interior panels. Similarly, other auto body parts—including hoods, fenders, bumpers, quarter panels, and header panels—are not warranted for associated components such as hinges, moldings, locks, trim, headlights, or grilles.

In the case of a color mismatch when requesting a specific shade of a body part, warranty coverage will not apply, and such issues will not be accepted as grounds for return. However, we do provide repainting services to match the color of your vehicle for a professional finish.

Warranty Summary for Used Engines

This SPH warranty is strictly limited to manufacturing defects in used engines. It does not extend to damages caused by accidents, misuse, improper handling, or failures related to connected systems such as the cooling system, fuel system, electrical system, engine control system, ignition components, belts, hoses, or filters.

Key Terms and Conditions: Installation and Labor: SPH does not cover costs associated with the installation or removal of engines. Customers are fully responsible for ensuring proper installation by certified professionals. Installation must be performed by a licensed mechanic; failure to comply with this requirement will void the warranty. Any form of improper installation—including not following manufacturer specifications, using incorrect tools, or applying improper methods—will invalidate the warranty. Damages resulting from errors such as misalignment, incorrect torque application, or improper fluid levels are not covered. Labor expenses related to diagnostics, repairs, or additional services remain the customer’s responsibility. In specific approved cases, SPH may reimburse labor charges for eligible warranty claims, limited to a maximum of 6 hours at $50.00 per hour. Proof of professional installation may be required to activate warranty coverage.

Coverage: The warranty exclusively applies to manufacturing defects found in used SPH engines.

Returns and Cancellations: Orders can be canceled within 24 hours without penalty. Any cancellation requested after 24 hours will incur a 35% restocking fee plus applicable shipping charges. Exchanges or replacements are available within 24 hours of receipt for eligible warranty-related issues.

Misordered or Misdiagnosed Parts: If an incorrect order is placed or parts are misdiagnosed, a 35% processing fee will apply, along with all shipping costs to and from the customer. Returns for such cases will only be accepted if the part remains unused, in its original condition, and is authorized in writing by SPH. Customers are responsible for confirming compatibility prior to purchase, and consultation with a certified mechanic is strongly recommended.

Towing, Shipping, and Transportation Costs: SPH is not responsible for costs related to towing, shipping, transportation, or vehicle rental. All such expenses are solely the responsibility of the customer.

Warranty Activation

Extended Warranty Activation: The SPH extended warranty becomes valid only after the customer confirms that the purchased engine or part has been properly installed by a certified mechanic. Warranty coverage will not take effect until this activation process is completed.

Activation Timeline: Customers must notify SPH within 7 business days from the date of delivery to confirm proper installation. Failure to do so will result in the extended warranty being void.

Required Documentation: Proof of professional installation, such as an invoice or certification from the installation service provider, may be required to successfully activate the warranty. This documentation ensures that the part was installed by a qualified professional according to manufacturer standards.

Failure to Activate: If customers fail to activate the extended warranty within the required 7-day period or provide false or misleading information, the warranty will be considered void and non-transferable.

Warranty Activation Process: Warranty activation is valid only when the purchased SPH engine or part has been installed in a vehicle by a certified mechanic. Customers must notify SPH within 7 business days of delivery and provide proof of professional installation, such as a receipt or certification from the installer. If activation requirements are not met, or if false information is supplied, the warranty will be immediately voided.

Delivery and Inspection

Inspection Upon Delivery: Customers are required to carefully inspect all SPH parts before signing for delivery. If any product is found damaged upon arrival, notify the shipping carrier immediately and do not accept the delivery.

Refuse Damaged Delivery: If damage is identified, the shipment must be returned to the carrier or refused entirely. Accepting damaged goods without reporting the issue to the shipper may result in voiding all related warranty claims.

Inspection Advice: SPH strongly recommends that all customers conduct a thorough inspection of purchased parts before accepting delivery. This precaution helps avoid warranty complications and ensures the customer receives products in proper condition.

Shipping Timeframes: Delivery estimates provided by SPH are based on standard carrier schedules. Actual delivery times may vary depending on carrier availability, weather conditions, or other factors outside of SPH’s control.

Delays: SPH is not responsible or liable for shipping delays caused by third-party carriers, adverse weather, or unforeseen external circumstances.

Return Policy (Non-Defective Transmissions)

Order Cancellations: Orders placed with SPH may be canceled within 24 hours without penalty. Any cancellations made after the 24-hour period will incur a 35% restocking fee in addition to applicable shipping charges.

Exchanges and Replacements: Eligible exchanges or replacements can be requested within 24 hours of receipt. SPH will provide replacements if a transmission is defective or damaged upon delivery and covered under warranty.

Incorrect or Misdiagnosed Orders: Parts that are ordered incorrectly or misdiagnosed are subject to a 35% processing fee as well as freight charges for both outbound and return shipping. Customers are responsible for verifying compatibility before placing an order. SPH strongly recommends consulting with a certified mechanic or professional to confirm the correct part requirements.

Return Policy: Returns for incorrectly ordered or misdiagnosed parts will only be accepted if the item is in its original, unused condition and has received prior written authorization from SPH. Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.

Towing, Shipping, and Transportation Costs

Customer Responsibility for Additional Costs: SPH does not cover expenses related to towing, shipping, transportation, or vehicle rentals. Whether incurred due to warranty claims, part replacements, or any other reason, these costs remain the sole responsibility of the customer.

Freight Charges: Freight costs for misordered or misdiagnosed parts are strictly non-refundable and must be prepaid by the customer prior to shipment.

Return Shipping Arrangements: All additional shipping for returned goods must fully comply with SPH’s official return policies. Unauthorized return shipments or failure to follow guidelines may result in denial of warranty coverage or rejection of the return.

Shipping Timeframes

Shipping Timeframes: All shipping timeframes provided by SPH represent the estimated time required to dispatch parts from our facility. These estimates are based on standard carrier services.

SPH does not guarantee exact delivery dates. While most orders are delivered within standard transit times, delays may occur due to destination distance, carrier logistics, or unforeseen external factors.

Shipments to remote locations, including Alaska, Hawaii, and other hard-to-reach areas, may require 30 days or more for delivery. Customers are advised to plan accordingly and account for possible extended timeframes.

Once an order has been shipped, SPH is not responsible for any delays caused by the carrier, weather conditions, or other factors beyond our control.

Mileage and Appearance

Mileage Disclosure: Mileage information for SPH parts is provided based on available records to the best of our knowledge. However, accuracy cannot be independently verified. Customers should understand that mileage figures are derived from prior documentation and may not always be precise or conclusive.

Part Appearance: The physical appearance of used SPH parts is affected by previous usage and may not match expectations of “like-new” or flawless condition. SPH does not guarantee or make representations regarding the cosmetic or aesthetic condition of any part.

OEM Standards

OEM Compatibility Assurance: SPH guarantees that all parts sold are manufactured to meet or exceed Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards, ensuring proper fit and performance for the specified vehicles.

Interchangeability of OEM Parts: Many OEM-grade auto parts offered by SPH are designed to be interchangeable across multiple years, makes, and models. While this provides greater flexibility and application, some installations may require specific adjustments or additional accessories to ensure optimal compatibility.

Customer Understanding of Terms

I acknowledge that this order involves the purchase of used auto parts. In the event that I refuse the shipment for any reason, I understand that all freight charges will be billed to the credit card on file.

I further agree that any form of tampering, disassembly, or modification of the part without prior written authorization from SPH will result in the immediate voiding of all applicable warranties.

All returned parts must be shipped back in the same complete condition as originally delivered and will be subject to a 35% restocking fee. To initiate a return, customers are required to contact their assigned salesperson and provide the corresponding invoice number for return authorization.

Company Liability

SPH is not responsible for any costs, damages, or complications arising from the use of accessories from older transmissions. This includes, but is not limited to, issues caused by incompatibility, improper installation, or the requirement for additional parts and modifications to ensure proper functionality.

Deposits

All deposits paid to SPH are strictly non-refundable under any circumstances. Customers are advised to carefully confirm their commitment to the purchase before submitting a deposit.

Deposits are applied to secure the requested engine or transmission part, initiating the necessary preparation, inspection, and shipping processes. Once received, the deposit confirms the buyer’s intent and allows SPH to reserve the part exclusively for that customer.

Orders canceled after a deposit has been placed will remain subject to the non-refundable deposit policy without exception.

Transmission Return Policy

Customers are required to obtain prior written authorization from SPH before initiating any engine return. Unauthorized returns will not be accepted under any circumstances.

All returned engines must be received in their original, fully assembled condition. Any tampering, modifications, or partial disassembly will automatically void the warranty and make the engine ineligible for return.

Every authorized return is subject to a 35% restocking fee, which covers inspection, administrative processing, and reallocation of the returned product.

The customer assumes full responsibility for all freight and shipping expenses related to the return, including both the original delivery charges and the cost of return shipping.

Inspection and Approval

Upon return, every transmission will undergo a comprehensive inspection by SPH to confirm its condition and compliance with our return standards. Any evidence of damage, misuse, or tampering may result in the rejection of the return or additional charges to the customer.

Customers are required to provide all supporting documentation, including the original invoice, valid proof of purchase, and a detailed explanation outlining the reason for the return. Failure to submit complete documentation may cause delays in processing or lead to the outright rejection of the return request.

Testing and Inspection

All transmissions supplied by SPH undergo a rigorous pre-shipment process to guarantee quality and reliability. This process includes functional testing to confirm operational performance, a detailed visual inspection to identify any external damage or defects, and a complete cleaning procedure to ensure the transmission is properly prepared for installation.

Conditions That Void the Warranty

The warranty provided by SPH becomes null and void if the transmission is installed incorrectly or without following the proper manufacturer-recommended installation procedures.

Installation by Certified Mechanics: Every transmission must be installed by a certified mechanic. Failure to comply with this requirement will immediately void the warranty coverage.

Non-Standard Usage: The warranty does not apply to transmissions used in racing, off-road competitions, or other non-standard applications.

Lack of Lubrication or Cooling: Operating a transmission without proper lubrication or an effective cooling system will void the warranty, regardless of the cause or circumstances.

Customer Acknowledgement of Terms

By placing an order with SPH, the customer authorizes payment processing and confirms full understanding and acceptance of the stated terms. All purchases are strictly for used parts. Any refusal of shipments may result in applicable freight charges being billed directly to the customer.

Unauthorized tampering, disassembly, or modification of any purchased part will void all warranties in effect. Additionally, all returned parts must be received in their complete and original condition as shipped. A mandatory 35% restocking fee will be applied to all approved returns.
